The ALGO-IBD project

The ALGO-IBD project coordinated by Julien Kirchgesner has been selected for funding by the Health Data Hub (BOAS call, Bibliothèque Ouverte d’Algorithmes en Santé) in December 2022.

IBD affects more than 250 000 patients in France and new advanced therapies have been recently marketed. Recent studies support the use of SNDS to study treatment effectiveness in patients with IND, but one of the main limitation is the non-collection in the SNDS of relevant parameters such as disease characteristics (extent and phenotype) and clinical disease activity.

The objective of this project is to develop and validate identification algorithms for IBD disease characteristics and activity in the SNDS, based on the linkage of three sources of real-world data: the French nationwide healthcare database (Système National des Données de Santé [SNDS]), EHR with the Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris (EDS AP-HP) Clinical Data Repository, and a prospective cohort of patients with IBD followed in AP-HP centers (SUVIMIC).
