The Grippenet/Covidnet project

The 15th season of the Grippenet/Covidnet study started on Monday 03 November 2025, continuing its role in the surveillance of acute respiratory infections, including influenza and COVID-19. This research initiative, based on the collection of data from the general population, is particularly valuable for collecting information on people who have symptoms but do not seek medical care, thus complementing traditional surveillance systems.

Once again this season, Grippenet/Covidnet is part of the SISP&EaU project (Integrative Surveillance in Primary Care and Wastewater), which aims to identify the most relevant sources of information for the early detection and surveillance of viral respiratory outbreaks by combining data from wastewater, pharmacies, general practitioners, and the general population.

The data available on the project website will be greatly enriched, both in terms of participant profiles and the results of weekly surveys. This will demonstrate what data is collected and how it is used.
