“One Health” joint academic day on emerging and re-emerging zoonoses

As part as a joint academic day organised by the National Academy of Medicine (ANM) and the French Veterinary Academy (AVF), held at the National Academy of Medicine on 13 October 2026, Raphaëlle Métras was invited to present a series of research works conducted over a decade on modelling the emergences of Rift Valley fever in Mayotte, illustrating the importance of quantitative ‘One Health’ approaches to better understand and control zoonotic infections. The day brought together doctors, veterinarians and ecologists, tackling more broadly emerging and re-emerging zoonoses through a “One Health” approach.
